BYOW Update (April 28, 2005)

If you're thinking of bringing a bottle to an Ontario restaurant, you should first find out if they have signed on to the "Bring Your Own Wine" project. To help you discover which restaurants now allow you to BYOW, there's a new website dedicated to this concept. Visit www.bringmywine.ca for a complete list of places you can bring a bottle, including cost and other restrictions. The site also has a "featured restaurant" – its first so to be favoured was Mammina's, on Wellesley Street in Toronto, which charges no corkage fee for VQA Ontario wines. Perhaps others will follow the trend!
