October 4th, 2006, kicks off the hottest wine-tasting festival of the year! All Toronto wine lovers are invited to personally discover the colourful radiance of the emerging Chilean culture while experiencing the delicate flavours of Chilean wines.

Hundreds of Toronto wine enthusiasts will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with winery representatives from more than 33 Chilean wineries pouring some of their most renowned varietals and blends. Guests can expect to acquaint themselves with the following attending wineries: Viña Altaïr, Viña Anakena, Viña Aresti, Viña Bisquertt, Viña Botalcura, Viña Caliterra, Viña Camino Real, Viña Cantaluna, Viña Carmen, Viña Casa Lapostolle, Viña Casas Del Bosque, Viña Concha y Toro, Viña Cono Sur, Viña Cousiño Macul, Viña Errazuriz, Viña Haras de Pirque, Viña J. Bouchon, Viña La Fortuna, Viña La Rosa, Viña Luis Felipe Edwards, Viña Miguel Torres, Viña Montes, Viña MontGras, Viña Morandé, Viña Pérez Cruz, Viña Porta, Viña San Esteban, Viña San Pedro, Viña Santa Alicia, Viña Santa Carolina, Viña Santa Rita, Viña Seña, Viña Tabalí, Viña Tarapacá, Viña Veramonte, and VIA.

To tantalize the taste buds, Irene Morales – "The Empanada Queen," and proud owner of Jumbo Empanada restaurant in Kensington Market – will be serving her famous Empanadas. To satisfy the music-savvy guests, the band Grupo Encuentro will add to the Chilean ambiance by playing a number of zesty Chilean tunes. Grupo Chile will also be on stage to entertain the crowd with a few traditional Chilean dances, in full costume of course.

After the festivities at the Fermenting Cellar, all guests are invited to continue their Chilean celebration at Pure Spirits' Chilean Post-Festival Party, where live entertainment, wines, and dancing promise a miraculous evening taking place on their large outdoor tented patio.

And if all this celebration hasn't already sparked a Chilean frenzy amongst the public, then the Chilean Winemaker's Dinner at Archeo Restaurant, on October 5th, will. With three top Chilean Winemakers at an exclusive dinner, along with The Distillery's own Executive Chef, Jason Rosso, preparing an authentic Chilean five-course meal (perfectly paired with Chilean wines), guests are bound to have a delicious and very memorable Chile October. Cost $95.00 per person, all-inclusive.

During October, Toronto will eagerly embrace and experience Chilean culture at its most vivacious! The Distillery Historic District is proud to present an exceptional look into the flavours of Chile with its three restaurants, The Boiler House, Archeo and Pure Spirits, featuring several specialty Chilean menus and wines, all month long.
