All Ontario Baco Noir Challenge
OntarioWineReview.com, a website devoted to the love, enjoyment and promotion of Ontario wines, is proud to announce the first ever All Ontario Baco Noir Challenge in an effort to find "Ontario's Best Baco Noir."
Baco Noir is a wine "nobody" likes; yet wineries make it, and sell out of it, every vintage. If "nobody" likes it, then who is drinking it? And why are they so ashamed to tell us ... or, better yet, what are they hiding? OntarioWineReview is kicking the door wide open, shedding some light on, and about to take the stigma out, of Baco Noir with this first ever Baco Noir Challenge. Never before have so many wineries from all three major winemaking regions of Ontario come together to compete in the "best of" category for a hybrid grape variety. Three categories are up for grabs: Baco Noir, Baco Blends and Baco Reserve ... with an incredible 37 wines in total competing for the respective crowns. Tasting will occur over the four Mondays in February at Southbrook Winery in Richmond Hill; each night will feature a different grouping of Bacos. Michael Pinkus, head writer, organizer and Grape Guy from OntarioWineReview stresses, "This is not a reviewer's challenge, it's a people's challenge, because it's a wine for the masses." Interested wine lovers are invited to come sample Baco Noir and help us judge who makes the best one in Ontario. No judging experience necessary; a love for good wine is all you need. 24 wineries, 37 wines, 4 nights, 3 categories ... One Grape Event ... and you'll help determine the winner.
Pre-registration is a must, as seating is limited to 30 people per night. More information about this unique event, ticketing details and other information can be found at www.ontariowinereview.com or by calling Michael Pinkus The Grape Guy at 416-346-2223 or 416-385-9400.
