Bouchard Père et Fils Petit Chablis 2005 (Burgundy)
($19.25, LCBO #51466)
In spite of that very warm vintage, this Petit Chablis has that old-style racy acidity that goes so well with seafood and light fish dishes. Crisp and minerally with Granny Smith apple acidity. ***½
Food match: oysters; spaghetti vongole

El Burro Kickass Garnacha 2005 (Spain)
$12.15 (LCBO #18929)
Another critter wine from the same stable as Fat Bastard, Le Freak and Mad Dogs and Englishmen. Dense purple colour, spicy black raspberry with an oak note; sweet, jammy fruit with good acidity; easy drinking. Good value. ***½
Food match: pizza, hamburgers

Georges Dubœuf Beaujolais Villages 2005 (Beaujolais)
$24.95 for 1500 mL (LCBO #29066)
A party-sized gulpable red best served lightly chilled. Purple-ruby colour; spicy black cherry nose; clean and fruity with lively acidity; well made. ***½
Food match: bouillabaisse; spicy chicken wings
