Sincerity Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2004
Emiliana Organico is a winery in Chile that is strictly organic when it comes to grape growing, so if you react to sulphur products in wine then try this one. Alvaro Espinoza is one of the most talented winemakers in Chile and he has fashioned a big, brooding, full-bodied red wine with flavours of blackcurrant, plums, cedar and chocolate. The finish has supple cocoa-like tannins. It's Espinoza's Sincerity Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 and it costs $20.95 a bottle at the LCBO. It's a wine to enjoy with hearty meat dishes. That's Emiliana Organico Sincerity Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 from Chile. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. (LCBO# 9050, $20.95)

Château des Charmes Chardonnay White Label 2004
If you like mature Chardonnay and you don't want to pay through the nose for it, look for Château des Charmes Chardonnay White Label 2004 from Ontario's Niagara Peninsula at the LCBO. Remember that vintage: 2004. It costs $11.15 a bottle and what you get for that price is a wine with a straw colour, a mature bouquet of apples, minerals and a touch of oak. The flavour is dry with a taste of ripe peaches and apples backed by oak. Well balanced and good length, it's terrific value for the price. It's wine to serve with roast chicken or salmon steaks. And it comes from your own backyard. That's Château des Charmes Chardonnay White Label 2004 from Ontario. For Post City magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. ($11.15, LCBO #56754)
