This is a real bargain from Abruzzi. Ruby coloured with a rustic nose of plums, sweet earth and white pepper; well extracted and firm on the palate; very flavourful for a wine of this price. ***½

Quinta do Vallado Douro Red 2004 (Portugal)
$17.95 (Vintages #694992)
One of the Douro Boys wines. A sturdy red made from port grapes. A sturdy, full-bodied red, dense ruby in colour with a mouth-filling flavour of blackberries, black olives and minerals. ****
