Dense purple colour with a smoky, minerally blackberry nose. Sweet jammy blackberry fruit with a licorice note; medium to full-bodied with soft tannins. Easy drinking. Good value. ****
Food match: mushroom risotto; pork chops

Grant Burge Barossa Vines Cabernet Merlot 2005 (Barossa Valley, Australia)

A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot. Deep ruby-purple colour with a nose of cedar, pencil lead plum and currant; medium-bodied, dry but fruity with fresh acidity. ****
Food match: braised oxtail; spaghetti bolognese

A beautifully crafted Gewurz at a bargain price. Pale straw colour, aromatic Muscat-like nose; medium-bodied, spicy lychee, orange and cardamom flavour. Good length. ****
