Grand Cru Culinary Wine Festival
This year marks the Third Anniversary of the Grand Cru Culinary Wine Festival in Toronto, a two-day event, November 1 and November 3.
Grand Cru assembles the best of fine wine and gourmet cuisine with top Toronto chefs and University Health Network scientists.
Recognized as one of Canada's top fundraising events, Grand Cru has raised $2.5 million for research at Toronto General Hospital and Toronto Western Hospital since its inception in 2005.
On Thursday, November 1, there will be a VIP Reserve Wine Tasting & Live Auction. A group of world-acclaimed winemakers will celebrate the opening night of Grand Cru at Muzik, where VIP guests will taste wines from over 80 vintners. The Auction will feature 50 items, including some very unique experiences.
On Saturday, November 3, the Exclusive Wine & Dine Experience takes place. Participants have the opportunity to savour a gourmet meal prepared by a top Toronto culinary chef, paired with extraordinary wine from world-renowned vintners, lavishly served in one of 25 donated elegant host homes. One of the guests at the table will be a scientist from the hospitals' research institutes who will talk about the importance of supporting medical research.
A $10,000-per-person wine tasting led by world-renowned wine critic Robert Parker and luncheon prepared by US Chef Daniel Boulud and Toronto's Massimo Capra happens Friday, November 2, and is already sold out. Two of the many outstanding wines offered are 1899 and 1900 Chateau Lafite.
A Grand Cru Festival Pass to attend both events is $2500 per person. Visit www.grandcru.ca.
