Reif Estate Cabernet Franc 2006
The LCBO is not the only choice when it comes to shopping for Ontario wines. You can shop the winery stores down in Niagara, Lake Erie North Shore or Prince Edward County, where the selection is much greater. Or you can shop on line at Winerytohome.com. A wine you can only get when you visit the winery or on Winerytohome.com is Reif Estate Cabernet Franc 2006 from the Niagara River appellation. The wine has a lovely red berry and rose petal bouquet. It's medium bodied with perfumed flavours of redcurrants with a breath of oak. It costs $19.15 a bottle. That's Reif Estate Cabernet Franc 2006 from Niagara. Serve it with red meat dishes or mature cheddar. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. ($19.15)

Concha y Toro Winemaker's Lot #7 Chardonnay 2006
At Vintages stores currently is a richly flavoured Chardonnay from Chile made by one of the world's great winemakers, Ignacio Recabarren. Concha y Toro is the largest winery in that country and Recabarren has been able to select his grapes carefully for this wine. Concha y Toro Winemaker's Lot #7 Chardonnay 2006 has a spicy pineapple nose and sweet spicy fruit. It's full-bodied with well integrated toasty oak supported by a lively acidic spine. It costs $15.95 at Vintages outlets. Match it with grilled scallops or roast chicken. That's Concha y Toro Winemaker's Lot #7 Chardonnay 2006 from Chile. If you're driving and don't have the opportunity to make a note, you'll find the wine if you go to 680News.com and click on my link. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. ($15.95, Vintages stores #30940)
