Santé 2008 Schedule of Events at a Glance 

Weeks of April 7, 14 and 21

  • Santé Nights – Deconstructing Dinner events focusing on featured regions wines. Limited to 50 people per venue; begins with a 45 minute Wine & Food Deconstructing educational seminar followed by dinner.

Week of April 28

  • Santé in the City – Dining Events hosted by wineries and select Toronto restaurants.

Monday May 5

  • Landmark Australia – Structured sit-down tutored tasting of an exclusive selection from Langton's Classification of Australian wines led by Michael Hill-Smith MW. Venue: Park Hyatt Toronto.

Tuesday May 6

  • Ultimate Winemakers Dinner, The Ballroom at the Four Seasons Hotel.
  • Santé in the City – Dining Events hosted by wineries and select Toronto restaurants.

Wednesday May 7

  • Trade Tasting, The Carlu – for wine industry professionals, restaurant trade, media and LCBO. A selection of education seminars will be hosted during the Trade Tasting by the 2008 focus wine regions.
  • International Tasting, The Carlu. This event is open to the public and will include an educational component hosted by IWEG.

Thursday May 8

  • California Sideways – An evening of wine and food focused on a feature region (California TBC) Venue: The Royal Ontario Museum. This event will include an educational component hosted by IWEG.
  • Santé in the City – Dining Events hosted by wineries and select Toronto restaurants.

Friday May 9

  • Santé Down Under – An outdoor Yorkville area will be closed for a tented wine barbecue with the wines and the "barbie" cuisine of Australia. This event will include an educational component hosted by IWEG.

Saturday May 10

  • Sip, Savour & Shop, hosted by wineries at select local shops.
  • Sip, Savour & Learn – a series of 5 structured educational seminars. Four seminars will be hosted at the Park Hyatt Toronto (TBC) and the fifth will be hosted at the LCBO Summerhill location – How to Taste Like a Pro. Specific topics for the four seminars at the Park Hyatt will be determined once all winery participation is confirmed for 2008.
  • Santé Finale: Celebrating the 10th on the 10th – An evening featuring Bon Appetit magazine's Executive Chef Cat Cora. A celebration of fine wine and foods with celebrity Canadian/US chefs and the wines of a feature region. This event will include an educational component hosted by IWEG.
