Proto-typical New Zealand Sauvignon. Pale straw colour with an intense gooseberry, green leaf and asparagus nose; well extracted guava-like flavours with a slight spritz on the tongue. Fresh and lively on the palate. ***½

Mouton Cadet Reserve Médoc 2005 (Bordeaux)

A great Bordeaux vintage has given this wine extra power. Deep ruby colour with a cedar, vanilla oak and red berry nose; medium-bodied, dry, full on the palate, blackcurrant and plum flavours, with a fleshy, generous finish defined by supple tannins. ****
