An Exploration into the Wines of Kreydenweiss
Join Antoine Kreydenweiss from Alsace for interactive evenings of wine tasting and pairing. On February 7 and 8, 2008, WineOnline.ca will host an exciting wine tasting and pairing event with Antoine Kreydenweiss of Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss. Flying into Canada from his vineyard in Alsace, France, the world-renowned, inspired and visionary winemaker will discuss an exclusive selection of the estate's rarities paired with a menu designed to match each wine to perfection.
Thursday evening's events will be held at The Fine Wine Reserve, located at King and Spadina (directions are emailed to guests privately) with two seatings at 6:00 pm and 8:30 pm. The event will be catered by the Reserve's executive chefs, who will craft a delightful morsel menu of fitting creations.
On Friday, Jamie Kennedy Wine Bar, located at 9 Church Street, will host the evening with one main seating beginning at 8:00 pm. Delectable wines will be discussed and paired with a six-course menu by one of Canada's finest Executive Chefs, Tobey Nemeth.
The city's top wine connoisseurs, sommeliers, critics and an exclusive selection of WineOnline.ca clients are invited to this celebration of wine tasting, pairing and informal discussion with Antoine from Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss.
Critically acclaimed, "Domaine Marc Kreydenweiss exists on that intriguing fault line between deeply traditional and the avant-garde." The Kreydenweiss estate in the Alsace region of eastern France was originally established in 1650, and has been in the family for over three and a half centuries.
In 1990, Marc Kreydenweiss converted the estate to 100% biodynamic farming, a distinction shared by only a small number of wineries in the world. An innovative technique, farming in this manner not only enhances the health of the soil and disease-resistance of the vines, but the terroir character of each wine becomes increasingly defined. The grapes are organically cultivated, without pesticides or commercial fertilizers, and vineyard work is timed to the cycles of the sun, moon and stars.
"The Kreydenweiss Estate produces some of the best structured, well-integrated and balanced wines in the world," says WineOnline.ca founder Aaron Bick. "We are overjoyed to be hosting Antoine Kreydenweiss for these events and are looking forward to two wonderful evenings of tastings, parings and discussion."
Thursday evening tickets are $95 per guest for either the 6:00 pm or 8:30 pm seating. Friday evening tickets are $175 per guest for the 8:00 pm seating. Guests can RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
