Broadbent 10 Year Old Madeira
Vintages, $34.80
Deeply coloured tawny ruby; dried fig and toffee on the nose; lean, wonderfully balanced walnut flavour with a great spine of acidity that propels the taste and maintains it long after you’ve swallowed. Fresh for its age and elegant to boot. Food match: Aperitif wine.

Hernder Cabernet Franc 1999
$12.95
Purple-ruby colour; plummy nose with an attractive floral and slightly medicinal note; medium-bodied with a plum and blackberry flavour, firmly structured with a tannic bite on the finish. Well made and sell priced. Food match: rare lamb chops, aged Cheddar cheese.
Available only at the winery: 905-684-3300

Bonny Doon Pacific Rim Dry Riesling 2000
$14.95 (new listing at LCBO)
An unusual blend of Riesling from Washinton State (66%), Mosel (24%) and California (10%) bottled with maverick winemaker Randall Grahm's innate wit and style.
Pale colour with a greenish tint; a nose of lime, spring flowers and petrol; crisp, lime and white peach flavours, a touch of residual sweetness in the mid-palate, medium-bodied with a dry finish. Food match: Thai dishes, Mexican.
