Red Guitar Old Vine Tempranillo Garnacha 2006
Tempranillo and Garnacha are typical grapes you'll fine in the wines of Rioja and Navarra in the north east of Spain. These wines used to take a long time to come around because of their gripping tannins. But the new style of winemaking makes them more table ready. Try Red Guitar Old Vine Tempranillo Garnacha 2006 from Navarra. It's ruby-violet in colour with a floral nose of raspberries; it's medium-bodied, firmly structured, dry and elegant. It costs $12.85. Try it with lamb chops or spicy Italian sausage. That's Red Guitar Old Vine Tempranillo Garnacha 2006 from Spain. For Post City Magazines I'm Tony Aspler. ($12.85, LCBO #54007)

Kruger-Rumpf Munsterer Pittersberg Riesling Kabinett 2006
German wines can be a mouthful in both senses of the word. But it's really worth the effort. At Vintages is a white wine called Kruger-Rumpf Munsterer Pittersberg Riesling Kabinett 2006 that's just a delight for summer drinking. It comes from the Nahe region and its bouquet is a mix of honey, spring flowers and minerals. It's light on the palate, off-dry, with a honeyed peach flavour. It costs $19.95 at Vintages outlets. You probably won't remember the name so check it out by going to the 680News.com site and clicking on my link. It's Kruger-Rumpf Munsterer Pittersberg Riesling Kabinett 2006 at Vintages. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. ($19.95, Vintages #692368)
