Catapereiro Vinho Tinto 2005
Portugal is emerging as the country that offers great value when it comes to red wines under $15. Currently at Vintages outlets is a product with the poetic name of Catapereiro Vinho Tinto 2005. It's a blend of two local grapes – Castelao and Alicante Bouschet. Deep ruby in colour with a spicy red berry nose, it's medium-bodied with sweet blueberry fruit flavours. Not very complex but delicious with a clove-like note on the end taste. It costs $14.95. Try it with red meats. That's Catapereiro Vinho Tinto 2005 from Portugal in Vintages stores. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. ($14.95, Vintages #0080358)

Daniel Lenko Unoaked Chardonnay
Ontario makes really good Chardonnay, especially the unoaked variety. A good example is Daniel Lenko Unoaked Chardonnay 2005 currently at Vintages outlets and selling for $19.95. It's a well-made wine with a complex bouquet of apple and white peach. Medium to full bodied, those flavours engulf the palate with finely balanced acidity and then they linger. A good match would be roast chicken or grilled salmon. That's Daniel Lenko Unoaked Chardonnay 2005 at Vintages stores. To read this review go to 680News.com and click on my link.
