Vintages on Line
The LCBO has found another way to entice you to buy wine. Their Vintages department has created a virtual store offering 100 wines a month that you can only purchase on line. These products not available in the stores. Each month there will be two releases on Wednesdays of some 50 wines this month on November 12th and 26th. The site is vintagesshoponline.com. You key in your order and the wine is delivered to the LCBO store of your choice. But don't look for Yellow Tail. These are fine wines only. You don't have to worry about opening hours. The net is 24/7. But don't expect overnight service. This is the LCBO. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler.
Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages "Combe aux Jacques" 2007
Now that the Beaujolais Nouveau has hit the shelves you'll want to try its grown-up sister a Beaujolais Villages with more flavour and more substance. One of the Vintages store wines that should always be in stock is Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages "Combe aux Jacques" 2007. This wine will make a Beaujolais believer of you. Deep ruby-purple with a peppery, cherry nose, it's light and fruity with cherry and cranberry flavours. It's easy drinking and costs $17.95 a bottle at Vintages. That's Louis Jadot Beaujolais-Villages "Combe aux Jacques" 2007. Match it with ham steak or chill it for grilled salmon. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. ($17.95, Vintages Essentials #365924)
