Marques de Caceres Seleccionada Crianza 2005
The Spanish region of Rioja has finally come to life with some very tasty red wines. Marques de Caceres Seleccionada Crianza 2005 is fruit-driven red made from Tempranillo, Graciano and Grenache grapes. Aged for 16 months in French oak, this wine has a nose of raspberries and black plums with vanilla and cinnamon spice from the oak. The mouth feel is velvety and the tannins soft. It costs $16.95 at the LCBO. Try it with beef stew. That's Marques de Caceres Seleccionada Crianza 2005. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. ($16.95, LCBO # 69294)

Inniskillin Montague Vineyard Chardonnay 2006
Chardonnay is one of the wines that Ontario excels in and Inniskillin is back on form with their 2006 Montague Vineyard Chardonnay. Pale straw in colour, it has a nose of spice and toast with notes of white peach and apple. Though crisply dry on the finish it has a caramel note in the mid palate. A nicely balanced wine that goes well with fish, seafood or white meat dishes. It costs $17.95 a bottle at the LCBO. That's Inniskillin Montague Vineyard Chardonnay 2006 from the Niagara Peninsula. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. ($17.95, LCBO #586347)
