Dense purple colour with a smoky blackberry bouquet and a floral note. Engaging forward fruit, medium-bodied, no great length but a smooth flavour of blackberries and black cherries with a touch of white pepper. ***½

This wine keeps getting better with the vintages. Dense ruby colour with a cedar nose redolent with sweet blackcurrants; richly extracted fruit, full and generous on the palate with sweet blackcurrant flavours. Well structured. ****½

Bonterra Chardonnay 2006 (Mendocino County, California)

An organically grown wine. Medium straw colour with a minerally, apple nose and a touch of vanilla oak; full-bodied, spicy apple and pear flavours with a caramel note on the finish. Good length. ****
