Beckett's Flat Five Stones Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon 2008 (Margaret River, Australia)
$18.95 (Vintages #108001)
This is a Kosher product (Mevushal). Pale straw colour with a minerally, grassy, gooseberry nose. A touch of residual sugar gives this wine a honeydew melon note that complements the gooseberry flavour. Medium-bodied, sustains well on the palate and easy drinking. ****
Food match: gefilte fish; Caesar salad

Beckett's Flat Five Stones Cabernet Shiraz 2007 (Margaret River, Australia)
$19.95  (Vintages #58963)
A Kosher red (Mevushal). 60% Cabernet, 40% Shiraz. Deep ruby colour with a minty, cedary blackcurrant nose; medium-bodied with an elegant blackcurrant flavour; lean and well structured with nicely integrated oak. A good food wine. ****
Food match: lamb; braised beef

Sonoma Vineyards Merlot 2005 (Sonoma County, California)
$16.95 (LCBO #60632)
Dense ruby-purple colour; smoky, black cherry nose with an oaky note; medium to full-bodied with sweet jammy fruit that ends with a dry savoury cedar note. Good acidity. ****
Food match: veal chop; pork roast
