The wine is medium-bodied with a grassy, pineapple and gooseberry flavour. Good length and good value. ***½

J.P. Chenet Classic Cabernet Syrah 2007 (Pays d'Oc)

This blend is deep ruby in colour with plum and blackcurrant notes on the nose, tempered with vanilla oak. It's medium-bodied with a silky mouth-feel, displaying flavours of black fruits and spice. For best results pour it into a decanter or a jug an hour before serving. ***½
