Inniskillin Reserve Series Riesling 2008
Riesling is the most consistent Ontario wine from vintage to vintage. It's a grape that works well in our climate and the wine it produces is very versatile when it comes to matching with food. Inniskillin Reserve Series Riesling 2008 is pale straw in colour with a spicy, lime and mineral bouquet. On the palate it offers grapefruit and peach flavours, giving it a sweet and sour taste at the same time. It costs $14.45 a bottle at the LCBO. Try it with spaghetti vongole or Thai cuisine. That's Inniskillin Reserve Series Riesling 2008 from Ontario. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. ($14.95, LCBO #34025)

Santa Rita 120 Sauvignon Blanc  2009
Here's a very tasty Sauvignon Blanc from Chile that's just the job to pair with roast chicken or a Caesar salad. It's Santa Rita 120 Sauvignon Blanc 2009 vintage. Chile, being in the southern hemisphere, harvests grapes in March and April. The "120" refers to that number of Chilean revolutionaries who took shelter in Santa Rita's cellars during Chile's war of independence against Spain in 1814. The wine is very pale in colour with a nose of guavas and cut grass. It's crisply dry with guava and green plum flavours. The cost? $10.45 a bottle. That's Santa Rita 120 Sauvignon Blanc 2009.  For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. ($10.45, LCBO #23606)
