Nose: vanilla, blackcurrant, and eucalyptus
Taste: richly extracted sweet blackcurrant flavours with a lavender note; firmly structured with light tannins on the finish. Good value.
Food matches: lamb shanks, ham steak

Nose: vanilla, blackcurrant with a floral note
Taste: full-flavoured, forward fruity flavours that slide on the palate to a lean, acidic finish. Ready for drinking. (Abbey Rock also does a stylish full-bodied Shiraz 2001.)
Food matches: cassoulet, venison

Rosemount Estate Diamond Shiraz 2001 (South Eastern Australia)

Nose: spicy blackberry
Taste: full-bodied, minty blackberry, fruit-forward with soft tannins. Fills the mouth, white pepper on the finish.
