La Chamiza Polo Professional Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Argentina is known for its Malbec but the Mendoza Valley also produces some very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon at bargain prices. Currently at Vintages outlets is La Chamiza Polo Professional Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 – Argentina, of course, is a great polo country. The wines is dense purple colour with a bouquet of vanilla oak and black fruits. It's full-bodied, dry and savoury with blackcurrant and coffee bean flavours and a firm finish. It costs $12.95 at Vintages. Match it with lamb burgers or pork ribs. That's La Chamiza Polo Professional Cabernet Sauvignon 2007 from Argentina. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. ($12.95, Vintages #128595).

Codorníu Reserva Selección Raventós Brut Cava
Codorníu Reserva Selección Raventós Brut Cava sounds like quite a mouthful, and if you like sparkling wine, it certainly is. This Cava from Spain's Penedes region is great value at $14.95 a bottle, but you can only find it at Vintages outlets. This straw-coloured sparkler has a minerally, earthy, apple peel nose. It's medium-bodied with a crisp crabapple flavour and lively acidity. It makes a great aperitif or serve it with grilled fish. That's Codorníu Reserva Selección Raventós Brut Cava from Spain at Vintages. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. ($14.95, Vintages #521773)
