680News wine reviews – October 30–November 2, 2009

Tedeschi Capitel Tenda Soave Classico 2008
If you're looking for a dry white wine and you want to try something different from Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, try Soave. It comes from Italy's Veneto region, near Verona, and is made from Garganega and Trebbiano grapes. Tedeschi Capitel Tenda Soave Classico 2008 is currently at Vintages outlets and costs $15.95. The wine is straw coloured with a peachy, citrus nose. It's medium-bodied, nicely balanced, with a flavour of sweet peaches but finishes dry. It's a versatile food wine that you can match with fish or white meat dishes. That's Tedeschi Capitel Tenda Soave Classico 2008 from Italy. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler. ($15.95, Vintages #730903)

Twin Island Sauvignon Blanc 2008
If you like New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, there's a good deal at Vintages outlets. It's Twin Island Sauvignon Blanc 2008 from Marlborough, the home of the best Kiwi Sauvignons. The wine is pale straw in colour with a nose of green pepper, passion fruit and guava. It's medium-bodied with a sweetish note and good length. It costs $14.95 at Vintages outlets. Try it with goat's cheese or grilled scallops. That's Twin Island Sauvignon Blanc 2008 from New Zealand. If you miss any of my reviews while you're driving you can find them on line by going to 680News.com and clicking on my link. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler.
