The driest style of New Zealand Sauvignon. Light straw colour with nose of green plums and nettles; medium-bodied, crisply dry with mouth-freshening gooseberry and cut grass flavours, lively acidity and good length. ****½ (89)

Skuttlebutt Sauvignon Blanc/Semillon 2008 (Margaret River, Australia)

Very appealing for the price. Pale straw colour with a bouquet of elderberries and cut grass; medium-bodied with flavours of grapefruit and redcurrant and an herbaceous note. **** (88)
