Alvaro Palacios Winemaker's Dinner
On Wednesday, November 25, Cava Restaurant will host a winemaker's dinner with Alvaro Palacios.
As a winemaker, Alvaro embodies the spirit of "The New Spain." After training in Bordeaux under Jean-Pierre Moueix at the renowned Château Petrus, Alvaro returned to Spain, where he has helped revolutionize Spanish wine. His wines have won him cult status and are absolutely salivated about in the wine press. Wine Spectator has called Alvaro "Spain's Most Exciting Winemaker," in 2003 Wine & Spirits Magazine named him their "Winemaker of the Year," and his L'Ermita is widely considered to be the most important Spanish wine in a generation.
Chef Chris McDonald is known for his artisanal culinary craftsmanship, and his inventive interpretation of rustic modern dining with a Spanish influence will be an ideal match with the wines. This will be a casual, communal evening with an emphasis on the symbiosis between good food, good wine and good company.
Experience this event for $140 per person (including taxes and gratuity). $15 from each ticket will be donated to the charity Grapes for Humanity with a chance for one fortunate guest to win a bottle of 2002 L'Ermita, the current vintage of which is available for $799 in Vintages Classics Catalogue.
