Pascual Toso Malbec 2008 (Argentina)

Dense purple colour; minerally, smoky, black cherry nose; medium to full-bodied with a spicy, dark chocolate flavour. Finishes with soft tannins. Good value **** (87)

A blockbuster Chardonnay. Medium straw colour with a apple, tropical fruit and minerals on the nose; full-bodied and mouth-filling with apple and grapefruit flavours; soft mouth-feel, elegant and beautifully balanced. Great value. ****½ (89)
Food match: boiled lobster; runny Camembert

Bonterra Merlot 2006 (Mendocino, California)
$19.95 (Vintages #984724)
Made from organically grown grapes. Dense purple colour; cedar, graphite and blackberry nose; full-bodied, spicy, sweet blackberry fruit, firmly structured with a tannic finish. ****½ (89)
