A fine Ontario Chardonnay. Straw coloured with an intense nose of lychee, tropical fruit and toasty oak; full-bodied, well structured, fleshy but elegant with caramel and citrus flavours and a nutty finish. ***** (90)
Food match: boiled lobster; grilled quail

Gemtree Vineyards Tadpole Shiraz 2008 (McLaren Vale, South Australia)
$16.95 (Vintages #142034)
Dense purple-black colour with a bouquet of blackberries and a medicinal note; full-bodied, sweet fruit with lively acidity; clean and fruity on the palate with a clovey oak finish. Great value. ***** (90)

Lake Valence Oak Aged Chardonnay 2007 (Hungary)
