680News wine reviews – May 21–23, 2010

Suavia Soave Classico 2008
Soave is one of those Italian white wines that can be very good or can be thumbs down. I came across a Soave at Vintages that was just a joy to drink. The producer is Suavia, which sounds like Soave only it's spelled S-U-A-V-I-A. The vintage is 2008. It has a rich nose of stone fruits with citrus notes. It's medium-bodied and full on the palate with lively flavours of peach and pineapple, nicely integrated oak and lingers on the palate. It costs $19.95 at Vintages. Serve it with grilled trout or Camembert cheese. That's Suavia Soave Classico 2008 from Italy. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680 News and 680 News.com. ($19.95, Vintages #165654

Domaine Boudau Le Clos 2008
Some wine names are difficult to get across on the radio, so if my pronunciation leaves you guessing, you can always go to 680News.com and click on my link to see a print version of my reviews. My recommendation today is Domaine Boudau Le Clos 2008 from the Côtes de Roussillon. This blend of Grenache, Syrah and Carignan is perfect for grilled meats. Elegant flavours of cassis and cherry fill the mouth. A delicious wine, available at Vintages outlets for $16.95. That's Domaine Boudau Le Clos 2008 from France. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680 News and 680 News.com. ($16.95, Vintages #149989)
