Domaine Bassac Organic Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
Newly released at the LCBO is an organic Cabernet Sauvignon from a relative new appellation in Languedoc-Roussillon named Vin de Pays des Côtes de Thongue. It's Domaine Bassac Organic Cabernet Sauvignon 2008. Dense purple in colour, it has a nose of cedar and currants; the fruit is sweet, the tannins supple and it's full in the mouth. The price is as attractive as the flavour – $12.95. An ideal BBQ wine which will stand up to spicy marinades. That's Domaine Bassac Organic Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 from southern France. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680 News and 680 News.com. ($12.95, LCBO #164152)

Rosemount Shiraz Cabernet 2008
The Aussies created the blend of Shiraz and Cabernet, a wine that offers lots of flavour and power. The latest blend in the field is Rosemount Shiraz Cabernet 2008 from South East Australia. This wine is great value for $12.05. The deep purple colour suggests real concentration and you get it in spades. The nose is cedar and plum with a peppery note. The taste is all sweet blackberry and chocolate with a chunky mouth feel and soft tannins – a great choice for BBQ meats. That's Rosemount Shiraz Cabernet 2008 from Australia. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680 News and 680 News.com. ($12.05, LCBO #214270)
