Inniskillin Dry Riesling 2009
I'm harping about Ontario Riesling again – the most consistent wine in our provincial portfolio. The 2009 Inniskillin Dry Riesling is a good buy at $12.45 a bottle. The wine is very pale in colour with a lifted floral, grapefruit nose; it's fresh and lively on the palate with an engaging honeyed note to offset the zesty grapefruit flavour. Serve it with pork loin or onion tart. That's Inniskillin Dry Riesling 2009 from Ontario. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($12.45, LCBO #83790)
Feudi di San Marzano Negroamaro 2008
The province of Puglia is the heel and spur of the boot that is Italy and they make some pretty rugged wines in that warm region. Feudi di San Marzano Negroamaro 2008 is a wine that belongs on one of those outdoor Italian tables served in glasses that could hold toothbrushes. It's hearty and rustic, full-bodied with a sweet plum and black cherry flavour with a floral note. It costs $11.95 at Vintages and it's just the job for spicy barbecued meats or ribs. That's Feudi di San Marzano Negroamaro 2008 from Italy at Vintages outlets. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($11.95, Vintages #159442)
