680News wine reviews – February 18–20, 2011

Fielding Estate Riesling 2009
Here's an Ontario Riesling you shouldn't miss. Fielding Estate Riesling 2009. It's very pale in colour, but don't let that fool you. This Riesling has a ton of flavour. The nose is all lime and minerals; it's light-bodied, elegant and clean on the plate with zesty flavours of lime and peach that linger on the palate to a fresh, dry finish. It costs $15.95 at the LCBO and it's the perfect partner for shrimp salad or onion tart. That's Fielding Estate Riesling 2009 from Ontario. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680 News and 680News.com. ($15.95, LCBO #146761)

La Posta Pizzella Family Vineyard Malbec 2008
This week's wine recommendation is Argentina's flagship grape at an attractive price. La Posta Pizzella Family Vineyard Malbec 2008. The wine is dense purple in colour with a rich bouquet of blueberry and vanilla oak; it's medium-bodied with lushly extracted fruit, a touch of spice and a floral grace note. It costs $15 at Vintages outlets. Try it with roast lamb. That's La Posta Pizzella Family Vineyard Malbec 2008 from Argentina. If you miss any of these reviews you can catch them by going to the 680News.com site and clicking on my link. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680 News and 680News.com. ($15, Vintages #166298)
