Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
Now here's a really tasty Cabernet Sauvignon from California's Paso Robles region at a good price: Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon 2008. It costs $18.95 at Vintages outlets and it's worth every penny. Deeply coloured, this wine has a lovely bouquet of blackcurrants with a floral grace note. It's medium to full-bodied with a richly extracted spicy flavour. It's an ideal wine for red meat dishes, especially lamb. That's Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon 2008 from California, at Vintages outlets. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($18.95, Vintages #738823)

Oakley Tic Tok Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Robert Oatley used to own Rosemount Estate in Australia before he sold it to the giant Southcorp group. But he missed the wine business and started up another winery in the Mudgee region where his company produces a value-priced range under the Tik Tok label. Currently at the LCBO is a well-priced Sauvignon Blanc that's varietally correct and well priced at $14.95. It's pale straw in colour with a grassy, gooseberry nose – flavours that replicate on the palate. It's medium-bodied and fresh with lively acidity Serve it with seafood dishes. That's Oakley Tic Tok Sauvignon Blanc 2009 from Australia. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680 News and 680 News.com. ($14.95, LCBO #187039)
