A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Dense ruby in colour with a cherry, herbal nose complemented with vanilla oak; medium to full-bodied, well extracted fruit with a mocha note, spicy with a sweet herbal core. ****(88)

Rodney Strong Estate Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 (Alexander Valley, Sonoma)

A classy Sonoma Cab that's not over-extracted. Dense purple-ruby colour with a nose of cedar, blackcurrant, vanilla oak and a floral top note; medium-bodied, sweet, juicy blackcurrant and mulberry flavours with soft tannins. ****½ (89)

François Lurton Sauvignon de Bordeaux 2010

A well priced Sauvignon Blanc. Very pale in colour with a perfumed bouquet of lychee and cut grass; crisply dry and fresh with flavours of gooseberry and grapefruit. Good value. **** (88)
