May I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Beaulieu Vineyards BV Coastal Estates Chardonnay 2007 (California)
$10.95 (LCBO #234435)
A good bargain here for a mature California chardonnay. straw-coloured; mature, apple and toast on the nose; dry, nutty, toasty, apple and pineapple flavours; high toned, thick on the palate. Full-bodied and voluptuous. Drink now. **** (87)
Food match: roast chicken or turkey; camembert

Domaine Pierre Fil Cuvée Elisyces 2007 (Minervois)
$19.95 (Vintages #251504)
Deep ruby colour; truffle-barnyard nose, black raspberry; perfumed raspberry flavour, some sweetness here; full-bodied, fleshy but elegant with a firm tannic finish. ****(90)
Food match: beef casserole; pepper steak

Stratus Red 2008 (Ontario)
$44.20 (Vintages #131037)
A blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot – deep ruby colour; cedar, vanilla oak, cigar box nose; still a little tight but it's well structured with ripe tannins. Will improve with a year or two in bottle. ***** (90)
Food match: rack of lamb; pheasant
