MacMurray Ranch Chardonnay 2009 (Sonoma Coast)
$21.95 (Vintages #262063)
A Gallo property making highly individual wines. Straw colour; a spicy, tropical fruit nose with a buttery note. Full-bodied, sweet pineapple and caramel flavours balanced by citrus acidity with a hint of vanilla oak. Soft, creamy mouth feel. ****˝ (89)
Food match: bold enough to have with red meat; roast turkey

Tommasi Amarone Classico Il Sestante 2008 (Veneto)
$39.95 (Vintages #267112)
Nice to see a wine of this quality on the general list at the LCBO. Deep ruby colour; a high toned, spicy, fruit cake of a nose with a hint of pencil lead; full-bodied, ripe fruit with a sweet, spicy blackberry flavour. ****˝ (89)
Food match: games dishes; blue cheese

Closson Chase Vineyard Chardonnay 2009 (Prince Edward County)
$29.95 (from the winery – phone  1-888-201-2300)
One of the best Chardonnays to come out of the County. Deep straw in colour; spicy, minerally, apple and pear nose with a leesy lemony note; well integrated oak with a fresh, lingering finish. A triumph of terroir and technique. ***** (92)
Food match: steamed lobster; Epoisses
