  • Bouchard Père & Fils Mâcon Lugny St. Pierre 2010

François Lurton Sauvignon 2010 (Bordeaux)
$11.95 (LCBO #250381)
This is unlike any Bordeaux Blanc I have tasted – more a cross between Loire and New Zealand. Pale straw, almost water white in colour it has an upfront bouquet of gooseberry and grapefruit; these flavours expand on the palate to passion fruit with a crisp lemony finish. Good value. **** (87)
Food match: seafood; Caesar salad

Nederburg The Winemaster's Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2009 (South Africa)
 $10.95 (LCBO #111526)
A captivating Cab at a very decent price. Ruby colour; smoky, earthy, blackcurrant nose; velvety mouth feel, dry, herbal, blackberry flavour, medium-bodied with good length. ***½ (86)
Food match: lamb burgers; pizza

Bouchard Père & Fils Mâcon Lugny St. Pierre 2010 (Burgundy)
$13.95 until April 29th, then $14.95 (LCBO #51573)
A good introductory white Burgundy. Pale straw colour with a fresh nose of citrus fruit and apple complemented with a mineral note; medium-bodied, crisply dry. **** (87)
Food match: Brie; grilled trout
