Ontario Consumers' Riesling Challenge

Greetings, Riesling lovers,

We would like to invite you to come out to Guelph and partake in our...

6th-Annual Ontario Consumers' Riesling Challenge
(O.C.R.C. 2012)

A unique, customer-dedicated event.

This annual event is held at LCBO store #495 (615 Scottsdale Drive, Guelph, ON), Saturday, May 26, 2012, from noon to 4 pm.

As it will be a VINTAGES release day, we anticipate an enthusiastic customer turnout.

Wineries will be featuring multiple styles of Riesling, both dry and off-dry.

Homemade trophies will be awarded for the winner in each of the two categories, dry and off-dry.

Local food purveyors involved:

  • Chartelli's Fine Cheeses (Local Cheese),
  • Quican Inc. (with his own line of artisan breads Quentessentials)
  • Delta Guelph Hotel (local matching fare),
  • Planet Bean (100% Organic, Fair Trade coffee)
  • and sparkling water.

Participating customers will pay a $10 admission fee. This gets you four tasting tickets.

Charitable Partnership

The collected admission goes directly to Bracelet of Hope (Canadian Registered Charitable number 837390947RR0001), braceletofhope.ca.

Participating consumers will also receive a bracelet, which symbolizes hope; one country reaching out to another and both transformed by the experience. Bracelet of Hope is an example of international cooperation, a project aimed to assist Lesotho in overcoming its AIDS pandemic.

Dr. Anne-Marie Zajdlik, recipient of the Order of Ontario, an HIV physician in Guelph, Ontario coordinates the Bracelet of Hope project. In 2005, she founded and now directs the Masai Centre for Local, Regional and Global Health, in response to the growing numbers of HIV/AIDS patients in the Guelph area. She is a regional HIV specialist.
