Trapiche Extra Brut Sparkling Wine 2011
If you're looking for a sparkling wine at a bargain price head for the Argentinian shelves at the LCBO. Trapiche Extra Brut Sparkling Wine 2011 costs $11.95 a bottle. You might think that Extra Brut is really dry but this bubbly has some sweetness in mid palate reminiscent of a Prosecco. Produced from Chardonnay, Semillon and Malbec, it offers sweet pear and citrus flavours. Use it as an aperitif wine or with ham salad. That's Trapiche Extra Brut Sparkling Wine 2011 from Argentina. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($11.95, LCBO #262261)

2011 Wolf Blass Gold Label Riesling
At a recent Vintages release tasting I was mightily impressed by a Riesling from downunder. Wolf Blass Gold Label Riesling 2011 from Australia. It's a fruity, medium-bodied wine the colour of straw. The bouquet is redolent with a fragrance of apples, minerals and honey with a floral grace note. Ripe and full on the palate with honeyed lime and grapefruit flavours, it's a style of wine that will go well with spicy dishes. It costs $20.95 at Vintages outlets. That's Wolf Blass Gold Label Riesling 2011 from Australia. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($20.95, Vintages #606269)
