The rosés for hot weather drinking.

Marques de Caceres Rosado 2011 (Rioja, Spain)
$12.95 (LCBO #622142)
This has been a consistent favourite of mine over the years because of its price/quality factor. A blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha, it's pale pink in in colour with an arresting bouquet of red berries. Light and elegant on the palate, its vibrant acidity prolongs the flavour of raspberries and wild strawberries. **** (88)
Food match: paella or cold salmon

Domaine des Carteresses Tavel Rosé 2011 (Rhône)
$15.95 (Vintages #739474)
Deep pink in colour with a minerally nose of raspberries with an earthy note. More full-bodied than most dry rosés with mouth-filling flavours a raspberry and white pepper with a floral top note. **** (88)
Food match: charcuterie or cold cuts

Quails' Gate Rosé 2011 (Okanagan Valley, BC)
$17.95 (Vintages #275842)
A blend of 85% Gamay Noir, 10% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Gris. Deep pink in colour with a refreshing red berry nose and flavours of rhubarb and redcurrant on the palate. Crisply dry with a lively acidic finish. **** (88)
Food match: cold lamb; grilled shrimps
