Domaine des Marrans Fleurie 2011
As the weather warms up it's time to think about red wines you can chill. The perfect chillable red is Beaujolais but if you want to kick it up a notch in quality look for a named village growth from the Beaujolais region. Currently at Vintages is a Fleurie from the Domaine des Marrans 2011. It's purple-black in colour with a floral, black cherry nose; it's light and fresh, fruity but firm and easy drinking. It costs $19.95 at Vintages. Serve it with ham; or grilled sausages. That's Domaine des Marrans Fleurie 2011 from France. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($19.95, Vintages #324897)

Mission Hill 5 Vineyards Pinot Blanc 2010
Pinot Blanc, a genetic mutation from Pinot Noir, is a grape that excels in British Columbia. Currently at the LCBO is Mission Hill 5 Vineyards Pinot Blanc 2010. Light straw colour, it has a bouquet of peaches and citrus fruits; it's medium-bodied with peach and pineapple flavours. The wine is satisfyingly dry with a baked apple finish. A very versatile food wine. It costs $15.95 a bottle. Serve it with grilled fish or chicken salad. That's Mission Hill 5 Vineyards Pinot Blanc 2010 from BC. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($15.95, LCBO #145094)
