New Vintage Niagara
This year's New Vintage Niagara Festival, June 1422, 2003, is set
to be a true discovery of the senses.
The journey begins on Saturday, June 14, from 5 pm to 8 pm in the heart
of Wine Country with the newest addition to the 8th Annual New Vintage
Festival during the Dairy Farmers of Canada's "Spring Garden Party."
Visitors to Niagara Under Glass embark on an adventure guaranteed to stir
one's thoughts and palates, with over 30 of Ontario's award-winning wineries
pouring their best selling wines, all paired with the best in Canadian
cheeses. Take a tour of the Horticultural Discovery Centre, sample some
wine and cheese, and enjoy a barbecue, all for $45 per person.
But the path to discovery doesn't end there. Building on the success
of last year's festival, the New Vintage Winery Touring Passport has been
expanded to nine days of tastings, tours, seminars and many other special
events focused on the newly released wines, June 14 to 22. A $15 Passport
will be your key to experience the first public samplings of 2002's Vintage
of Excellence at the various participating wineries along Niagara's renowned
All this is just a prelude to the big event. Be there on Saturday, June
21 as more than 35 acclaimed wineries gather to uncork the first taste
of their previous year's harvest. The TD Bank Financial Group's "New
Vintage Niagara" Wine Tasting Gala will take place at the St. Catharines
Golf & Country Club from 8 pm to 11 pm. Your $79 ticket will allow
you to be among the first to experience and savour a taste of Ontario's
2002 Vintage of Excellence while enjoying Niagara's distinguished entertainment
