680News wine reviews – July 26–28, 2013

Antinori Peppoli Chianti Classico 2010
One of the best Chiantis around for price and value is Antinori Peppoli Chianti Classico 2010. It costs $19.95 at Vintages outlets. It dense ruby colour predicts a concentration of fruit on the nose and the palate. And that's what you get – rich bouquet of cherries and leather with a floral top note. The wine is full on the palate, dry and savoury. Match it with pizza, pasta or charcuterie. That's Antinori Peppoli Chianti Classico 2010 from Tuscany at Vintages. For Post City Magazines I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($19.95, Vintages #606541)

Kaiken Malbec Reserva 2011
Kaiken is the name of a goose that migrates between Chile and Argentina – which is exactly what winemaker Aurelio Montes does, as he has wineries in both countries. Kaiken Malbec Reserva 2011 is from Argentina. Dense purple-black in colour, it has a nose of sweet blackberries, a chunky mouth feel and full-bodied flavours of dark chocolate and black fruits. It costs $14.95 at Vintages outlets. A great barbecue wine. That's Kaiken Malbec Reserva 2011 from Argentina. For Post City Magazines I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($14.95, Vintages #58339)
