Are You Game? Shiraz 2009 is the little sister to Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Shiraz, which is currently at Vintages at twice the price. Are You Game? Shiraz is deep ruby-purple in colour with a savoury nose of black fruits, herbs and pepper. It offers dry, full-bodied, spicy, licorice, blackberry and toasty oak flavours. ****(88)

Looking for something different in the way of a white wine? Try this blend of Grenache Blanc, Viognier and Clairette. The wine is deep straw in colour with a spicy, tropical fruit nose and a floral note. Richly extracted peach and melon flavours fill the mouth with a star anise finish. Good mouth feel. Calliope is the second label of Burrowing Owl in the southern Okanagan. The wine is very pale in colour with a floral, herbaceous, grapefruit nose. It's full-bodied with green plum and citrus flavours and lively acidity. ****½ (89)
