680News wine reviews – September 6–8, 2013

Ironstone Obsession Symphony 2012
Symphony is a California grape produced by crossing Muscat of Alexandria with Grenache Gris. It was popularized by the Ironstone winery in the Sierra Foothills. Ironstone Obsession Symphony 2012 is pale straw in colour with an aromatic, spicy Muscat-like nose. It has an off-dry, grapey flavour of orange and cardamom; it's easy drinking, light on the palate with a faint spritz and costs $14 until September 15th, when it goes up a buck. Try it with Indian or Asian dishes. That's Ironstone Obsession Symphony 2012 from California. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($14.00, LCBO #295931)

Errazuriz Ovalle Vineyards Panul Chardonnay 2012
Errazuriz Ovalle Vineyards Panul Chardonnay 2012 is an easy-drinking, budget-friendly Chard from Chile's Colchagua Valley. Straw coloured with a lime tint, it offers a minerally, spicy, apple nose and a custard apple flavour. It's soft on the palate with a touch of sweetness in mid taste. It costs a very reasonable $10.85 a bottle. Serve it with chicken or tuna salad. That's Errazuriz Ovalle Vineyards Panul Chardonnay 2012 from Chile. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($10.85, LCBO #325480)
