680News wine reviews – November 15–17, 2013

Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon 2012
Among the LCBO's new releases is a Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina that punches above its weight value-wise. Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 from Mendoza is dense purple-ruby in colour, redolent with blackcurrant, cedar and vanilla oak aromas. The flavour is concentrated and well balanced – a lovely mouthful of wine for $13.95 a bottle. Match it with lamb chops or roast beef. That's Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 from Argentina. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($13.95, LCBO #295105)

Bottega Pink Sparking Rosé
Probably the sexiest bottle currently at the LCBO is Bottega Pink Sparking Rosé from the Veneto region. The bottle has a reflective pink-gold sheen. The bubbly inside is very pale pink with a lilac note with a cherry and citrus nose and a dry, sour cherry flavour. Very elegant and easy drinking. It costs $22.95 and could be a talking point at your holiday parties. That's Bottega Pink Sparkling Rosé from Italy, a good apertitif wine or serve it with cold chicken. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($22.95, LCBO #187914)
