Jean-Michel Dupré Vignes de 1918 Régnié 2011
Now that Beaujolais Nouveau is out of the way, why not try a named village wine from the region that has real class. Jean-Michel Dupré Vignes de mille-neuf-cent dix-huit Régnié 2011. The wine is deep purple colour with a nose of black cherries and moist earth; medium-bodied, it has a richly extracted cherry flavour with lively acidity. A fruity Beaujolais that really makes a statement. It costs $17.95 at Vintages outlets. Try it with turkey or roast chestnuts. That's Jean-Michel Dupré Vignes de mille-neuf-cent dix-huit Régnié 2011 from France. For Post City magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($17.95, Vintages #344895)

Fincas Patagonicas Zolo Reserve Chardonnay 2012
If you are thinking of a white wine to go with the Christmas turkey try Fincas Patagonicas Zolo Reserve Chardonnay 2012 from Argentina. This is a big, strapping Chardonnay, straw coloured with a funky, pencil lead, apple and spicy oak nose; full-bodied and rich, it delivers well balanced creamy apple and pear flavours with fresh acidity to give it length. It costs $16.95 at Vintages outlets. That's Fincas Patagonicas Zolo Reserve Chardonnay 2012 from Argentina. For Post City magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com.
