Jadot Bourgogne Chardonnay 2012 (Burgundy)
$20.95 (Vintages #933077)
A good introduction to white Burgundy and a versatile food wine. Straw colour; minerally, apple nose; dry, medium-bodied, nicely balanced with crisp lemony acidity, good mouth-feel and a little wood spice on the finish. **** (88)
Food match: battered calamari; lemon chicken breast

Alpha Syrah/Xinomavro 2009 (Greece)
$17.95 (Vintages #239897)
A 50/50 blend from one of Greece's best winemakers. Ruby colour; high toned, vanilla oak and black cherry nose; dry, medium-bodied, lean and sinewy but fruity, firmly structured with a lively spine of acidity. Another good food wine. **** (88+)
Food match: herbed lamb; pork

Wildass White 2009 (Ontario)
$19.95 (Vintages #85100)
A blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Gewurztraminer, Riesling. Golden straw colour; the Gewurz sings through on the nose, aromatic and lychee-driven; off-dry, full-bodied, intense flavours of grapefruit, peach and lychee. A beautiful, fleshy, powerful blend with great length and a lovely mouth-feel. ***** (90)
Food match: roast chicken; light curried dishes
