Pink House Wine Co. Chardonnay Merlot 2013
If you want to hasten summer weather, try a bottle of the Pink House Company Chardonnay Merlot 2013. With those two grape varieties it's a rosé blend, made by Ontario's Henry of Pelham. Salmon pink in colour, it has a nose of red apples and an evident note of sweetness; it's nicely balanced with a candied raspberry flavour and good length, It costs $12.95 at the LCBO and works well with charcuterie. That's Pink House Wine Company Chardonnay Merlot 2013 from Ontario. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($12.95, LCBO #324558)

Finca La Emperatriz Reserva 2007
Finca La Emperatriz Reserva 2007 is a full-bodied Tempranillo from Rioja in Spain. It's dense purple in colour with a spicy nose of blueberries and tar and a floral grace note. Full on the palate and really well balanced, it offers silky tannins behind an elegant, long, exotic fruit and spice-packed finish. It costs $29.95 at Vintages outlets. Match it with BBQ pork or Manchego cheese. For Post City Magazines, I'm Tony Aspler, 680News and 680News.com. ($29.95, Vintages #359927)
