sip & Savour Ontario welcomes Ontario farmers to Avenue Road North with the opening of its first
Urban Farm & Artisan Market, in support of the Alzheimer Society Toronto. Each Thursday commencing June 5th, 2014 until
October 30th, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm, the sip & Savour Ontario Farm & Artisan Market invites the community to sip and
savour the best of Ontario’s enviable bounty and show their support for local Ontario food growers and producers.
Since 2005, sip & Savour Ontario has been dedicated to bringing education, support, and accessibility of Ontario’s local
wine, culinary, and agricultural industries to the public. To date, through its annual multifaceted event, the program has
raised consumer awareness about the outstanding local food and beverage products Ontario has to offer. It has also
showcased the incredible quality and flavour available here in Ontario, while focusing on the vast benefits of supporting
local industries and the passionate people who are dedicated to producing them.
In consideration of the growing interest in locally farmed and produced products, the emergence of urban farm markets, and
increased interest in Ontario’s cultural diversity, highlighting both authentic and re-invented cuisines, sip & Savour Ontario
looks to expand its presence so that our provinces’ consumers can make Ontario’s home-grown excellence a part of their

Roe Avenue in North Toronto. The urban market philosophy will reflect the same ideology behind the sip & Savour Ontario
annual fair, while raising consumer awareness about how farmers’ markets support the local economy. The sip & Savour
Ontario Farm & Artisan Market will give the community an opportunity to put a face to their food through interaction with
local farmers, as well as educational information on where their food comes from and the benefits of supporting local

honey, maple syrup, preserves, artisan crafts, meats, soaps & personal products, candles, artisan cheeses, fresh flowers &
herbs, health & wellness products, hot & cold prepared foods, food trucks, and a community booth providing local service
